I would say go with the 17''. The rims look awesome on a Supra with 16'' all around, but even though i dont have those rims, 17'' is a preferred size to go with. I have 17'' 5 spokes from a Solara and it looks just fine.

ive got a white 89 too
i think im going to 18" to get the look im after...i just dont want the car THAT low to get the gap im looking for, 18's will help a little more. i guess ill figure it out once i get my h&r springs.

as for what wheel, im getting the rota p45r in bronze, its gonna look sick on white.

16" look good with the right profile and width, you cant really go wrong with 17's though, get a profile that gives you good road feel but isnt too harsh

weight isnt going to be an issue as far as diameter, but when you start adding width its a little more..im sure whatever size you get itll be almost half the weight of the stock blades

Ditto on the 'lara rims. Narrow but w/235/50/17's it looks "sleeper-subtle" and perform pretty well with a good suspension and rubber.;)

Later, I'd like the Work Equip's myself...

...or maybe some O.Z.'s...

If I were you i would hit up Craigslist every day. I got mine from there for like $350. Mine arent name brand but I think their very good looking 17inch rims, plus they were new. With a price like that I couldnt pass them up. I think going used is the best way if your straped for cash.
