yea, lots of places list the unsrung cause it's about 30 bucks cheaper.

I only list the sprung cause thats the only thing i'd run.

I'm seriously looking at this one: ACT Supra XTSS - Xtreme w Street Disc Clutch Kits
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri.../Clutch_Kits/part/XTSS_-_Xtreme_w_Street_Disc
VW-010_m.jpg

But it seems that no one here has tried this kit? I've read that it is about 2600 lbs, so the crankwalk risk is less than with RPS.

Will call you when i get to work.

BTW which clutch disk did you order?

Have the part number?

It was the 6 puck disc with the HD pressure plate. I don't have the number on me, but I can stop down by the shop if I need to get it.

see if you can call them to get a part number off the disk.

I'll get it taken care of.

no problem, any idea on how long that'll take, just to give the shop a heads up since they do transmission/clutch drops at night, and need to know their approximate schedule.

well gotta figure out whats wrong first.........

are the output shafts different sized on the 7mge compared to the gte? maybe they sent me the disc for a n/a instead of turbo? The shop is going to call me back when they have a chance to check the part number.

My spec2 was fine for everyday driving (with a very light pedal effort) at 400+rwhp, but it burned at the drag srip on a missed shift. The HPF bronse(ACT PP) I have now has taken a beatingg at the track and just keeps on going. I will probably keep this clutch set-up for a while.
BTW, the HPF clutch disks are rebuildable for about $100 and have a pretty quick turn around time. Also, do not use an aluminum flywheel with this clutch.

Just talked to him on the phone and i sent him the right part number. Their is possibly a problem with ACT when they built this disk, but its to early to say for sure. He says the input shaft of the tranny is just a little too big to fit the disk on.

the disk is too tight to fit on the shaft. I've got the stocker and the difference in diameter is approx .5cm. 2.5cm diameter on the act, 3cm diameter on the stock disc. I don't know if that helps or not

Weird. I need to have it shipped back to ACT, for ACT to warrenty it out. ACT says they will inspect it, and fix it.

Please call me so we can discuss what you want to do about it, so your car isn't down for an extended period of time.

i found a site listing the r154 input at 1 1/8", the stock disc is a perfect 1 1/8th, while the act is 1" exact. Thanks chris for your help in trying to resolve this with ACT, it seems like it's just a mislabeled part.
