I'm not likely to be driving my supra next summer, at this rate. With all the knucklehead riceboy wannabes in Calgary, I may as well not bother. I signed that petition two years ago, and I didn't think it'd do fuck or all then, and I still don't think it'll do fuck all.

My capacity to give a fuck about the idiocracy dished out in bulk by the City of Calgary ended shortly after the peace bridge debacle; the city paid some european schmuck $21 million to design some ugly assed bridge we didn't need in the first place. 21 mil to DESIGN, like design as in draw a pretty picture, not tender it, not build it, just for an architectural rendering. WHAT THE FUCK.

This is the same City of Calgary that forced Airdrie (a city about 12km north of Calgary city limits) to take two weeks to repave 8km of the biggest transportation artery in the province, because the City of Calgary (CoC) wanted the workers only working 10am-2pm with a 1 hour lunch break... the crews paving wanted to work around the clock. Everyone I talked to bitched about the workers taking their time, haha... NO. It's the fucking CoC trying to put a clamp on traffic to Airdrie becuase CoC wants to annex Airdrie. Kind of like a trade blockade, run by orange cones and construction equipment.

This is the same City of Calgary that cleans out storm drains during the spring runoff AFTER they've flooded an entire neighbourhood. I wouldn't buy a house at the bottom of the hill anywhere in this city... because eventually it'll become a sinkhole. Speaking of which, the 10th Ave sinkhole, that was caused by lack of drainage, and required a dumptruck to fill? Dear CoC, you have to maintain alleyways too... I don't pay you to beat off to animal porn in those tool trailers.

This is all happening while the CoC council is voting themselves raises... I think I recall that they make more than the president of the United States, at this point.

And $21-$24 a day to park downtown? Pardon me? What is this, newfuckingyork? AND THEN, LET'S CHARGE $3/DAY TO PARK, THEN PAY $3 AGAIN TO RIDE THE FUCKING TRAIN THERE, THEN $3 TO RIDE IT BACK! WE'RE IN A FUCKING RECESSION, KIDS ARE FUCKING STARVING AND YOU WANT MOM AND DAD TO PAY EVEN MORE TO GET TO WORK!

I'll lose it if I keep going... Just think, this is only the stuff that wouldn't get me fired. The only thing worse is that we keep voting these criminals back in! HA! Who's the fools, us or them? I would think we're the idiots here.

As a police officer and car enthusiast/race enthusiast I can definately see this becoming a huge problem, Good Luck talking sense into them, city councils are ran by tight wad morons who operate on their agenda and don't give a shit about anyone in the town the run (typically some cities are better than others).

Too bad. It's recently happened up here. They closed the Dunnville Autodrome because the residents were complaining about noise. There has to be some kind of compromise. :3d_frown:

In this case I am all in favor of "I"SR. Find dead roads with no houses, have spotters at each end and well away from the racing. Other than that, you risk your life at the track as well, race at your own will.
