I know its long stay with me i need opinions
Ok so i have made many threads like this before as have many others in my shoes. I dont want a 1j vs 7m vs 2j thread I posted in the "general" section as to not get a bias opinion from being in an engine tech room. Here is my problem I have a 91 turbo targa 5spd all the goods. My 7m just blew its 4th rear main due to unknown mysterys of the earth (seriously crank is fine housing is fine no overpressure in the pcv system). So Since my internals were all stock and I am shooting for say 450-550 HP I decided to just pull it back out and put forged internals yada yada ....all the goods. Well the 1jz swap has run across my mind many times now and I wanted honest non bias opinions on what You would do. Spend money to build a 7m thats strong and reliable. Spend money on a 1jz swap and add my 7m go fast stuff to it.
If i go 1jz I am also wondering what all from my 7m will work here is what i have ( I have more but some stuff is chassis related or I know for sure its 7m only)
Maft pro (speed density)
turbonetics 62-1
spec clutch

Now If 1jz is used I would get a Driftmotion ct26 mani and use the 62-1 what about maft pro that is no longer needed or what? (I am a jz noob) Could the bone stock jz bottom end take 500 all day everday with a tune etc..? How much money am i looking at here to do the 1j swap with power steering ac/heat using a clip?
I know some questions have been answered 1000's of times but I want to try to get all my questions resolved in one thread.
