Well got to start with the story. Pick it up in Chicago, Il on 10/4/07 for $1100. Motor has a blowen piston ring on #6. Had a friend that drove semi meet me at the airport to go and pick up the supra. Drove the 8 Hrs. home and put it into the garage. Plans well dont know yet but a 1jz in in order, i have blowen up like 6 or 7 7m engines in the past so no more.
Here is a link to the parts needed http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55545 I will keep updating it.

Here is pics. picking up in Chicago.

Also got the engine out!!! I dont know witch way to go? 1jz or have this 7m built. 1jz clip $3000, to have 7m built with turbo will be around $2500+i also would want a FFIM:)

nice!!!how long did it take you to pull the engine?

i would deff. go built 7m!

Well this was like my 8th time I have done it but took me 2.5 hrs. on Friday night befor the major beer drinking took over, and 2 hrs, Sat. and a case of beer (optional:sarcasm: ) for a total of 4.5 - 5 hrs. and one hell of a hang over sat. morning. I also took out the tranny with it.

And im running the # on the 7m build and it would be less then $500 to have a guy Bore&Hone,, hot dip, Balance Rotating Assy, Assemble short Block. SO for less $2000 i can have a bomb proof lower end:) so im leaning more on 7m and no re-wiring in the 1jz.

Looks to be in good shape, I like the carbon fiber targa idea for hiding some bad paint spots. Also some brake clean cointaining acetone will pull that paint off good too. And I think you'd be better suited for 1jz but you don't need a clip, get the engine and tranny, and then just do your intercooler piping and intake mods while you got everything out because you'll eventually do it anyway.

You've got a nice platform to build on. I would keep it 7M. Get it done right and you shouldn't have problems. There are 7M success stories and I'm hoping mine will be one of them. Grey FTW!
