Here is what I have found out for users..

1. They have to attach brackets to your car. these are the size of a cig. pack. and they are permanent. They allow the machine to lock you down.
this cost $195.00. (this is all in AU dollars)

2. You need a training cource ($60.00)

then you can race. There are membership packs that seem to be the way to go if you are going to be a regular. they range from 95.00 to 295.00 each level gives discounts for events or runs.

Here is the CRAZY part. They now have more then just DRAG. The system is able to track your steering with a laser system. So you can now race your friends on diffrent streets or tracks. Kinda like that DAYTONA USA game only with your car. I am told that they can run 3 cars at a time. It is a neet system. I dont know how the US laws will work with this but if I can build it You are all invited to the GRAND OPENING!

It would be a cool place. Maby we can build it next to Race Rock in orlando.

This could be a new trend emerging for sure... all depends on the practicality of it. It could be an attraction for racers in winter or bad weather, but getting the car there might be a challenge.

I think it takes a whole lot excitement out of the game, dragracing should be on a track. Yes it's safer, but no where near realistic. You're missing the aerodynamic part, the traction part, the acceleration part and most of all, the thrill of racing. Your basically not gaining an inch at all. Heck it'll be very simple, the one with the biggest wheels and most hp will win.

I rather like the idea. If you end up building that $2billion dollar thing, JMD, I'll drive to Florida for it. That would be awesome.

If this ever happens maybe we could schedule a supra meet around this and have a friendly challenge to see who's supra and driving skills dominate! I believe this would def be FTW.

Like when starting any business, you need a good business plan that you can show investors, by the sounds of it you are probably going to need some outside sponsers, and having a good well thought out business plan will help you get that cash.

Also See extactly how much this thing will cost, investors will probably want a competely itemised list of what is need and how much it costs so they who want is being done with their money.

heh ive thought about looking into having one of those before....

another thought john would be you would want a "stock" of cars for the "tourists".... meaning especially in orlando a lot of people come to town without cars...so you would want to have like 5-10 different cars....sports cars more then likely....and have them available to choose for people to race in... this would also be good for people wanting to try to race in different cars... ie a mk3 a mk4 a Z a vette a rx7 etc etc.....

then people wouldnt have to bring their own cars to make use of it....where do the brackets go on the car?

Ok. here is the deal.. this thing actually costs about 1million to build. thats for 1 car at a time. Its an extra $800,000.00 PER CAR , they can run 3 cars at a time in australia. This thing is going to take a big investor to get going here in the states.

The trailer DRAG ONLY system is about 30k per trailer. you need 2. and thats a drag race with no video just a tree and a readout when you are done.
