Sorry if this is in the wrong place..
I wanted to ask the opinion of the SupraMania users. A friend of myne wants me to go in on a business. There is a company that has made a mobile drag race dyno machine. Basicly its 2 dynos attached together. Its used to drag race cars. it can also be used as a normal dyno to tune. This is for car shows and group get togethers. When its not being used as a drag race machine it will be used as a normal dyno.

I know its not a detailed model, but genericly speaking would you drag race someone on this type of thing? Maby even a "Drag Race Event" with prizes.?? HarleyDavidson is touring with the motercycle version of it and it seems to be getting a big fan base.

thanks!

ive seen the motorcycle one in peson., its pretty freakin sweet. id run my car on one. the way they strap it down itd pretty much increase the traction allot. allow people to just dump the clutch and go so would prolly give better results then the actual track. but then youd getto stand right there and hear both cars goin fullt tilt together etc.. a sound that just wouldnt be the same on a track and no worries of the guy in the next lane coming over to your side and wrecking your car or hitting the wall etc.. i say its prolly a slight risk, but i think it would be a good buisness venture.

They're doing Circuit racing now as well NFI how it works though!

I might have to go take a look sometime as it's not far from me!

If you can go there and check it out that would be great.. Once I saw that I was thinking we need to build one here is the US!! Ha.. it looks like alot more cash then just the mobile version I found out about. 60 - 70k for the moble drag. I have got to talk to some people about doing this. It would be like the next Disney World for the auto lover!

Yea.. did you see the video screens?? Wonder how many computers runs it..

I wonder how safe it is? How bad could it get if a car blows it engine? The release form must be 200 pages. What insurrance company would give business insurrance to that thing? Thats why there is not one here in the US.. Hehe..

I called my friend and he is peeing himself, he is getting the investors together to figure it out. so we have dibs on building it first :biglaugh: Anyone want to go in on it?? only 20k per person and 20 people later we have it built!

Orlando florida would be a good place to build it? But Tampa would be closer to me.

yeah that is really neat. would be very helpful in tuning, racing in the off season, trying new setups, and fun! however, you can never replace that feel of acceleration!

<voice from above> "If you build it.......They will come"

I know I will find a way to get to Florida (I'm coning to Disney the week of the Tampa meet).Florida is not really that far for me. Maybe by the time you get it built, I can leave Mobile, and stop by and get Jake on the way down. His car might run by then. I'd watch his car, then run mine. Can't do it the same time he does, cause I'll be wetting my pants then.

I'll go ahead and paypal my 20K over to get this project started ;). In those pics of the cars on the dyno, did ne one see the cars strapped down? I can't look at it as I'm typing this (damn dialup), but when I did look I didn't really notice the cars being strapped down (albeit I wasn't looking closely either).

As far as location, Orlando would be a prime location, I know the car scene is pretty big there, plus with all the amusement parks around, you can't go wrong. I'd definently do this on the weekends if there was one around here. I wonder how much it costs to participate as well.
