:nono: im disappointed in you Tanya, and the other mkii guys for not catching this in this thread, its a 82-83 hatch with a 85+ spoiler on it :nono:

85 spoiler. The 86 had the 3rd brake light. :)

Might have just got a new decal on an 84-86 hatch though. ;)

Well, I can see it on something like a 1965 Corvette or something, but the MK2 Supra isn't a classic, and I don't really see it becoming one, unfortunately. :(

Pfft, at 25 years, the mkII will be a classic in at least title. I think it's already been proven mkIIs are "collectible" so I donn't see why they wouldn't be popular restos in the coming years (given they haven't all rusted away)

and lol @ zank, you get my point though. it could be ANY year hatch, with the 85 spoiler and a new sticker, guess we'll never know now.

I'm putting an 84 L-type hatch on my bunnypra this weekend, after I get done with it, you might not even know it's not the original '83 hatch :)

mkiisupraman and tanya..have you noticed that at auto parts store if a part is looked up for a supra it lists only one brand and is usually more expensive then if you look up the same part for a cressida i.e. Temp Sending Unit for a supra gives you a Beck Arnley part for 21 dollars, a cressie gives you a gp sorenson 15.48 part AND the Beck Arnley part....

just something to think about next time you're at the parts counter.

thanks, I usually look up all my parts online due to the morons here NEVER being able to order the right parts. but i will check out the price differences now between cressy/supra stuff thx

O... like accordian hoses on pre and post 89 turbos? :icon_razz

It DID seem like it was cheaper to reseal/gasket the cressida, looking back. And I coulda did GPsorenson or w/e too! All the wasted years/money! :icon_evil

Hell, if Supras aren't collectable, someone needs to explain my driveway to me. IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE!! :icon_conf

Classic title, yup.
Collectable, yup.

Classic in the same way a 1970 Challenger 426 Hemi in Plum Crazy with all documentation and matching serial numbers, verified by a historical society... I doubt it.

I wish it wasn't so, but I think the only real Toyota right now that will become a classic is probably the 2000GT. :( It's rare, hot, and expensive.

Nah, I don't think any Japanese car, even the 2000GT really, will ever be "classic" like the muscle cars. they are a classic collectible all of their own and will be, in my opinion, always #1 in collecting and restoring in the U.S.

True, and there is no 2000GT historical society, etc, but they have been known to pull in near (if not over) $100,000 at auction.

Give the mkII 20 or so years, if there's only 6 or so left in the US, they'll probably be going for $100k too just for the rare factor. By then, Convertible Hemi Cudas will be going for half a billion or so, lol.
