Mix matching Auto and 5spd Speedo Cables

i know the Auto is 3 piece and manual is 2 piece, so can i use the upper piece from an Auto and the lower piece from a manual and it will work???? or what??? need my speedo working ASAP

Um, my manual (5 spd.) cable is a two piece if that helps...

what im asking is

can i attach an upper auto speedo cable to the lower 5spd cable and it will work????? i thought i explained it pretty clear.....

the upper piece from the back of the speedo gauge to a foot from tranny will be from an auto then the the last 15 inches or so will be that of a 5spd manual speedo cable

WILL THIS WORK?????

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'd assume if they connected correctly it would work. When I did the 5speed swap I just re-used my auto cable. The cable only takes around 10 minutes to put on(once you yank the gauge cluster, another 10 minutes of work), you should just try and see if it works.

I don't really know, but I think I may still have my old upper speedo cable (manual) from when my lower part broke laying around, I'll have to check (I bought a full cable off of Chriso).

When i swapped my auto to a 5spd on my NA thats what I did and it worked.

What I'm saying is, If I can find my upper manual cable we can work something out by getting it to you if your combo doesn't work. You are using the 5spd lower half and going to a manual tranny right?

i have the upper in there but it was cut just before the threaded coupler where it screws to the lower...and im missing the lower piece...

so basically i need the WHOLE THING

but i have an upper auto one i can get from a friend and i can get the lower for $20 from yota.

so if i need to buy an upper from anyone im not paying no more than 25 shipped cause i dont see it being worth more than that for the upper

on the auto cable, remove the very last piece that goes into the tranny and is all metal and curved. now you have the 2 piece 5speed cable. easy enough.

i dont have the auto trans i have nothing to do with an auto except the upper section that goes to the back of the meter.

i found out my answer i just need a lower 5spd cable

anyone got one???

Looks like its already answered, but to clarify, the speedo cable connected to the dash is the same for manual and auto.
