Just wondering if anybody has ever ran a full standalone ECU (in this case, a microtech) on their MKIII supra? Like it? Dislike it?

One other thing, If I decide to go with a full standalone and eliminate the maf, will i need bigger injectors than the stock 440's if Im going to run 13-14 psi?

Thanks for your help.

There's a fair number of guys up here running the microtech units, mostly because there is a shop that installs and tunes them for a reasonable price.

They seem to work well - Don is pushing a crapload of power through one, and everyone seems to get more power from it than they do with the stock ECU and a bunch of piggybacks.

PSI doesn't matter much, it's what kind of power you are going to put down. If you want 380-400rwhp, the 440s are likely sufficient. If you want more than that, better get some larger injectors.

You talking about a shop called forcefed? (if you live in the vancouver area)?

If not, which shop is this that installs and tunes them? What kind of price range is that?

That's the place. :) I seem to recall the price range being ~$2k installed and tuned, but call him and check, don't take my word for it. It's been at least 6 months since I talked to anyone about it.

sweet.. yeah i have a few friends who know people there pretty well too..

so to push out 350-400hp out of my car if i want to go with a standalone.. all i really need is metal head gasket + ARP's, 3" exhaust, microtech, wideband o2, boost controller..? and obviously a good tune.

Anything else I should be aware of ?

I suspect that getting near 400 out of a Supra will need hardpipes and a new intercooler as well. I'd absolutely get some fuel bits - fuel lines & and AFPR, depending on the stock stuff is going to be chancy.

You might be able to avoid the fuel pump and injector upgrade this way, but the only way to really tell will be to get it tuned and see what you get.
