I had a 1.2 mm his mhg in my engine until it died. Now I am getting the block decked and need a bigger head gasket. I have an extra mhg in my garage that has been used. The rivets are not in it so all the layers are not connected. And I have no idea what size it. It has 4 small metal layers and one thicker layer. Does anyone know what size it is? Also what is the order of the layers? I was thinking two thin layers then big layer in the middle then the other two thin layers. Thanks

I come from a land down under
Measure it, all MHG's use the same construction it's just the middle layer that's different.

The 4 thin layer thing is confusing though it sounds like someone has stacked extras to make it thicker as most are 2x thin 1x thick, the HKS Stopper uses another thin but it's folded around the thick and not seperate.

A cometic 2mm is a 4 layer gasket. It has the two outer layers that contact the head and block, then one very thin inner layer, then one slightly thicker inner layer. If you are not sure, buy a new gasket. Perhaps a hks bead type 3mm gasket maybe a 5 layer, but I am not sure on that.
