Its not pushing it but if you fuck up and it has to be re bored, with 20 over you can go to 40 over, with 40 over you need a new block. Its the limit of boring.

Depends on the block/condition/core shift..

Yea I'm building a 3.4 liter stroked motor....just kidding, but I'm glad to hear .020 over will be ok, that's what I'm running.

Ummm they're ALL JDM Blocks, as far as I know the 7M's were never cast anywhere else..

Wait so over boring can lower the life of the block? Im having to use a .020 over piston cause a pervious machine shop didnt break the glaze correctly.

Thats not what I ment at all. You can only bore a block so many times before you run out of material to open it up too. Going from std directly to .040 oversize is skipping two potential future rebuilds.
