89 turbo w/abs.

Have found a tranny in a nearby yard.

However I know I need master cylinder, flywheel, pedal assy, drivesahft. At that same yard they have a full NON-turbo car. Could I use those parts from that car in my turbo?

Is there anything else I need?

Thanks.

an ECU and engine harness would make for a cleaner install, but i doubt youd absolutely need it. you need the hydraulic lines for the clutch too. dont forget the clutch/pressure plate.

I've seen people mention wiring harnesses, but not engine harnesses. Same thing?

Will the auto ECU work for manual (as I've seen in other threads)?

I'm gonna have to get a NEW clutch. Where would you guys get one?

Also, center console, is the stick position different at all? Do I need to find another one?

Thanks

*shrug* i bought an oem replacement off ebay

there is nothing special really... you want all of the clutch parts.. the clutch kit comes with a PP, disk, maybe the two new bearings but it doesnt come with any of the snap rings thrust or wave washers. i suggest goto toyota ask em about it- pull up the part#'s

manual clutch and brake pedals, hopefully you will get the pin and coiter pin that holds the clutch pedal to the master cyl

there is a rubber boot under the interior you tear away (it was stamped to be torn away so its really easy) thats where you master cyl goes and as for a clutch line i just bought a driftmotion line... two factory hard lines seemed impossible to install.

i went to a 2jzgte while doing this but any ecu will work fine.

new slave cyl of course

you will need a flywheel and new flywheel bolts *ARP bolts are on driftmtoion for 30$ or so* (replace rear main seal at the same time)

you need a r154 driveshaft (if you are buying the r154)

and if your trans doesnt come with the fork or anything else you'll need them to..

Also, can I use the transmission brace from a non-turbo trans on a turbo trans or are they different?

Sorry for the bump but I'd like a response. Also can I use a non-turbo flywheel?

Just so you know the clutch and flywheel are large by an inch or so on the turbos. I dont know if you can use the turbo flywheel and clutch and pp with the na trans you will need to check into this before you get your clutch so you dont waste money and time. As far as the comp and wiring I just threw my trans comp in a box and hard wired the neutal safty switch and reverse light wires. But car has cruise control which is run from a speed sensor on the rear of the trans, the manual I got didnt have this sensor so the cruise control dosent work but I just took it out to clean up engine bay and make room for fpr and other things needed. Mine is a na auto to na 5 speed swap so you know. 89 car with 87 trans. U will also need to find out about those washers for the flex plate Ive seen people say not to use them but I think I did can't Rember its been 3 years or so. I do believe that the gearing is the same in the na and turbo trans, but the diff is diffrent ratio, so the gearing may be diffrent. I'll try to find out later and get back to you with better specs on both the gearing and the flywheel.

Also it looks like the dshaft I got it no good.

Can I just get the yoke and add it to my current auto trans shaft?

OR Can I just get the half that connects to the transmission?

OR do I have to get another shaft? if so can I use the bearing I have on my auto? (brand new).

Thanks

So I have just received what I am told is a turbo driveshaft. It doesnt seem to fit my transmission that I bought. Since the tranny I bought was from a junkyard is there a way of being sure the tranny is a turbo as opposed to NA?

Looks like I have been screwed by the junkyard. Sold a w58 as opposed to r154. I have a receipt but am not looking forward to this.
