Hello everyone. My name is scott, and I am a supraholic.

My supra addiction started in 2001 when I bought a silver '87 turbo with some bolt on parts, low compression, and a hack job from the previous owner. I bought the car because I was obsessed with modifying cars, but I did not want to ruin my '65 fastback with original paint.

I rebuilt the motor while working for Toyota on work study program for my college and enjoyed the car for about 5000 miles before my heater check valve broke after a night of spirited driving. I lost my coolant and overheated this warped my head and I was bummed out to say the least and the car sat for a while.

I ended up taking on a 1jz swap in 2003 or '04 while still in college. I rented a garage from a buddy, and went to town. I procured a jza70 front clip with a stock toyota air cleaner, toyota oil filter, and nice harness and began the swap. Fast forward a few months and I had a car that was tearing up the street, and blowing smoke at extended idle due to blown turbo seals. I ended up driving it like this for about 8000 miles since the car would not burn enough oil to require topping off before I did oil changes every 2k miles.

about a year later I was fortunate to strike a deal with SP for a SP61xx turbo kit and I started that install. It took 9 months to get the turbo kit, and I basically ran out of time and had to just get the car running rather than take my time and do everything to a high standard. I limped the car to my new home and parked it for several years, only starting and driving it around town every couple weeks to keep the battery charged.

During that down time I became addicted to riding motorcycles and desert trucks. I started racing motorcycle a few years later and driving the supra felt like a chore for the last 5 years or so, in the process I ended up with 7 motorcycles! I had done literally no work to my supra the entire time!!

Here is a shot of me in 2011, the year that I won a championship racing with Supermoto USA in the 400cc class. (notice the sweet tron leathers :gaybar:)

I also raced the 89th annual running of the pikes peak international hill climb, I placed 5th my rookie year in my class. Pretty stoked to make it to the top epically since it was the last year with any dirt (3 miles) on the road. That event cannot be described it is a MUST for any motorsports enthusiast.

Here is the video of my run to the top

Fast forward again to 2012. I took a trip to europe with my awesome wife. I did my first track events on 4 wheels at the infamous Nurburgring in Germany. This is where my motivation to work on my supra came from. that shit was AWESOME! I must say the nurburgring is without a doubt the best racing enviornmet in the world. It is so much better in person than on Forza. BUT DO NOT go on a weekend unless you want traffic like this

The following monday I had the place to myself, but I lacked the awesome E92M3 and was stuck with a lotus exige. BOO HOO!! :sarcasm:

Here are some pics from the nurburgring

After the track time at the ring I am hooked on 4 wheels again. Currently my car is under the knife. I will make a build thread and post up some pics, I just recieved some parts back from powder coat, and have been doing other work as well.

Its good to be back, and thanks for all the help SM!

If anyone is interested in more pictures from the 'ring, or the porsche museum I have loads of them, and I could make a tread in other cars. Id highly recommend both to anyone going to Germany. (also hofbrou house the oldest beer drinking establishment in the world)

You seemed to have had an awesome last decade. I envy you. Your '65 fastback is gorgeous! I hate that too. I'm hatin on your track time at the Ring too. Is there anything else for me to hate on?

Seriously though, you are very blessed. I'm sure you worked very hard to have achieved your accomplishments. Lord knows I haven't.

thank you. but my supra is still a huge bucket that blows out the spark at 4500 rpm! that is the next thing on my list (besides being a good dad) and yes I work my ass of working for a utility company, no trust funder here! haha.

I found today after getting embarrassed by that Benz I'm having spark blowout around 4500rpm too. I have a 7m though. Last time that happened I found that my plug gaps ranged from 0.035 to 0.040. I regapped the same plugs to 0.028 and cleared up my blowout issue. I'm hoping I'm having the same problem as last time. We'll soon see.

If you want trip planning advice feel free to ask. I spent almost 2 weeks in Germany and did much more than the nurburgring and Porsche museum. It is a bad ass country, I would highly recommend.

Wheels are work equip. I got them so long ago that I forgot the sizes and offset. I think they are roughly 17x8 and 17x9 and about +35 for offset. **i went back and confirmed they are actually + 35 offsets ** I am going to have them re finished before too long.

The lip is the pre 89 one that was produced by carbon fiber fx (owned by Duane, I believe he posts here as upgraded supra).
