Location of ECU

I have been searching and searching and for the life of me, I can't find a thread about the location of the mk3 ECU. I have looked for installation manuals for different products that may say where the location it, but nothing! Can someone please educate me? Or please send me in the right direction?

I am going to install a SAFC 1 in my car, and I found the diagrams for it, just not the ECU location. I'm sure it is in some obvious place.:1zhelp:

Remove the glovebox
There is a plastic cover for it. Take the plastic off from above the glovebox and its right there.

Ah, seems it is above the glove box, according to Justin, the previous owner of this car.

I found that plastic fastener some time ago and thought I'd take a look at where everything goes before the big swap... I couldn't figure out how to get it apart, ended up giving up before breaking it...

hmmm I know there is something I should be learning here.. i just can't put a finger on it....

Done! That was the most simple install I have ever done! I found some drawings of the wiring/colors on this site, and it all went smooth as silk! Car runs so much better now with the SAFC! I went -13% across the board HI-THROT and -7% on LO-THROT. I will be hitting the dyno soon to get her tuned. Can anyone here suggest anything else I MUST HAVE before I hit the dyno?
