I am gonna buy a lip from ebay, and am aware that the 86-88 fit different than the 89+ correct? Most vendors on ebay list their lip as 86.5-92....can that be?

No, an '89+ isn't going to fit pre '89 without modification. That being said, I remember one person years ago who modified an '89+ aftermarket lip to fit a pre '89. I'm not sure how much modification was needed though.

so a pre 89 lip wouldnt fit an 89+either correct? I have an 89+ and am going to be very angry if it doesnt fit.
