Lexus in Canada, What Rip Off Artists

So i called my local Lexus dealer about an Alternator for my 1J, told them a SC300 1993 and They came back to me with
$1000.00 CAD for a Brand new one and $315.00 CAD for a rebuilt but i have to have a core to exchange.

F%$^ my local Lexus Dealer, I freaking hate them, they are such rip off artists, including my local Toyota Dealer as well..

Champion i think was asking $250USD for a Brand new one So i think i'll be giving them a call soon enough, :biglaugh:

I so badly want to buy it and then go to Lexus and show it to them and then ask them how they could charge $1000 For that Part. And Esspecially with our Exchange rate now as Canadians :icon_evil Makes me want to put them in the Hurt Locker :naughty:

Holy hell. Dealers will always charge more, its just the nature of the beast.

The main issue is that as exchange rate fluctuates, price lists do not get updated to keep in sync, also, a lot of Toyota Canada's stock is supplied from the USA, so we naturally have to mark it up higher.

Sometimes it's crazy rediculous and I can order a part from Champion Toyota for less than what Toyota Canada charges us a dealership before markup.

Don't necessarily blame the dealership, blame Toyota Canada.

Toyota wanted close to $2000 for a Landcruise Diesel flywheel.
It was half the cost to buy at a Japanese Toyota dealer, the same box, and then ship it.
They'd sell three times the stuff if it was half off, but that doesn't seem to be sinking in.

Ok Well its good to know, But Toyota Canada really needs to get there act together. Toyota is the worlds largest Car Manufacturer they should be setting the example not trying to play catch up.
