i had a knock sensor code (52) ever since i had my car a (year next month), i finally broke down and tried to get to the root of the problem, my motor is jdm so i knew the knock sensor was still good (provided the fact that they hardly ever go bad) so i disconnected and cleaned the plug, still threw the code (after i reset the ecu) then i said F*^k it I'm gonna rewire it, i sniped the wire about 21/2 inches away from the plug then jumped it to the car and did the same for the ECU (clear cover with copper wire, second plug to the right i believe) then got about 5 feet of wire, soadered and shrink wrapped both ends, reset the ECU and BAM no mo code 52...it kinda getto cause i didn't bother to take the time and yank out the old wire or even put the new wire into the harness but all and all it took me 15 min. and i just used tape to cover and put it with the harness...put the time in and it will come out nicer but thats for another day

go to a junk yard and pick you up one cheap....might as well get you a few....so if one doesn't work then you can try another...

You both had the same symptoms as a result of different causes. What you did was right. In theory what he did could cost him his engine.

how do you figure its gonna cost me my engine???
