Kind of a strange steering issue...

Well this is my first car with PPS, and I believe thats the cause of my issue.. basically my steering is fairly tight for a 25 year old car, but every once in awhile when I turn left it is super loose. And only when I turn left... Right is always tight, and sometimes left is as well.

Now I was thinking that it was the PPS solenoid starting to kick the bucket.. or maybe it's my alignment being off but idk. Right now to go in a straight line I have to turn the wheel approx. 20 degrees to the right. I don't know if that would cause something like this? Other than that, I don't know. To me, if something in the steering was worn, it would be constantly loose, turning both ways..

I would start with aligning the rack in te right position and having an alignment done.

Alignment shops don't align the rack in the right position.

How would you align the rack? All I'd do is straighten the steering wheel and get toe *close* then take it to an alignment shop

Should be same amount of turns from center to lock to lock. Tie rods should be pretty close to equally spaced and then aligned.

Okay so there's no adjustment for that on the rack, SHOULD be in the tie rods (but I suppose it could be steering shaft set on the splines incorrectly)

As a temp fix I chopped a piece of hose off of an old intercooler hose. That'll be my bushing until I can get some polys
