yea im on mobil 1 10w30 and am letting it run like this to see how it is, if i need more oil psi during idle then i'll move on to 15w40 but still not sure if its needed, for you just judge your engines state right now if you know its had a hg then rodknock is that much closer so i'd go a lil thicker.

If it is old 7MGE i would recommend going a thicker oil than 10w30. Remembering it is a semi tired engine u will start burning oil. I would stay away from synthetic as well. From my experience the stuff is great in new engine but not so good in older.
