Jiggle valve mod

Just removed and drilled out my jiggle valve. But I had a thought as I was installing it. This mod allows a steady stream of coolant to flow at all times to help release air bubbles in the system. Wouldn't this theoretically prohibit the thermostat from opening at the right time due to the relatively less pressure in the system?

Well I must have drilled the whole to big. Took a long time to heat up and never warmed up to normal operating temperature. Of course after a while of running too cool my car started running rich and bogged down. Changed thermostat back to stock and it went back to normal. Can anyone advise me on how to do it correctly? I really like the idea of trapped air having a way to escape. I believe IJ said he makes just a slit, or his has a slit in them or something.

Yes the T Stats I use just have a small v cut in them that you put facing UP.

Just cut the valve off with a pair of side cutters and the little hole is enough to act as a bleed.
