Hi everyone. My name is Ken. I have an 87 turbo which I've owned for the past 15 years. Most of that time it was a daily driver. It on it's second engine and second head gasket. All the work has been done at home, so as you can imagine the TSRM has be become known as "the bible" in our house. Well, it's time to rebuild. The compression reading are terrible (below)

Cylinder 1 108
Cylinder 2 98
Cylinder 3 101
Cylinder 4 94
Cylinder 5 105
Cylinder 6 90

The head gasket is also showing signs of failure. I'm losing antifreeze, but there no water in the oil, it's not smoking (at least not bad) and the car is not over heatings. So we've decided to do a complete rebuild, taking the body to a shell and repair or replace everything.

Hopefully we'll get started in the next couple of months. I will start a rebuild tread once we start the tear down. In the meantime here are some pics of where we're starting from.

Oh, I have three son's, so this car has become a family project.

Thanks! We just completed a whole drivetrain and wiring swap on the white one. Here's some pics of the swap. We droped the whole subframe with the engine and trans attached. The donor car was a good runner, but wrecked and it was cheaper to buy the white shell insteaded of repairing the body. Oh, the white one was my son's car.
