As far as i know, that is a W58 driveshaft for all mk3 supras regardless of the year. as long as the short shaft looks just like a straight shaft without any other shape to it then its a w58 shaft

Yes the two shafts are alot different. Like mentioned above the r-154 has the thicker sections in the center of the shaft and the w58 is just skinny straight through the whole shaft. Also if i'm not mistaken the spline counts are different also.

Yes the R154 spline has more teeth than a W58. heres a simple thing to help you, the clutch alignment tool that you use to align the clutch, SHOULD fit into the splined yoke of the shaft. thats how i found out if it was R154 or not, because the alignment tool does not perfectly fit into the splined yoke of the r154, its going to just spin around inside it...

okay thanks because this was next to the manual mk3 but wasnt sure if it belong to it ..so im go back and pick it up now

Good idea to sight along the rear Uni joints to make sure the shaft is in phase and the rear bonded section hasn't failed (very common)

The 2 Uni's should be prefectly in line.
