Just retested with engine warmed up (smoked) and results are:
1 = 180
2 = 172
3 = 170
4 = 175
5 = 180
6 = 170
I had the thottle open this time but only had one spark plug out at a time, don't know if that makes a big difference.
On a side note, I called my wife in the USA and in passing told her about the Supra and she went off so I told her I messed it up and it wasn't the motors fault and then diverted to something else.

I come from a land down under
Makes a little difference to cranking speed so it'll take longer to reach peak pressure for each cylinder, "even" is more important than the actual pressures, usually shoot for +- 15psi but 5>10 is about my limit.

Tried a run to the mechanics for the leak down test and made it about 10 miles then the engine bogged and died. Started and would run for about 5 seconds then bog and die with a big cloud of smoke so whatever was bad finally gave and got a tow to a different mechanic, now looking for another motor. My old source that had 15 motors before now has 0, only has a 2J aristo but has 2 1J's coming in 10 days.
Went to the driving range later and took out my frustration on a bucket and feel better now.

Went to the junkyard yesterday and the only two IJ's are a VVTI without a cam cover and no ECU and a non vvti under a stack of other motors without an ECU oil cap (dirty inside) and no cam or coilpack cover. Since it has motors on top I can't see around the back to check the turbo side. The VVTI has a turbo only marked with a number 3, no toyota on it so not sure what it is.

Got a motor with stock twins, came from an automatic car with 2 row ecu like the jza70. During the swap I told the mechanic to swap the stock turbos with my rebuilt ct-12's but the back turbo has about 1/8" radial shaft play both cold and hot side so looks like thats a no go.

your rebuilt turbos have shaft play =S are they still ceramic then? I mean I'd compare to the stock ones before kybashing them bc they blow seals so easily.

They were rebuilt with steel wheels, Im just hoping that this is not why my engine was bogging and died. I will know in a couple of days cause I told them I want to remove the pistons and check for cracked ringlands.

DSC_0171a.jpgFIG]67305DSC_0170a.jpgDSC_0172a.jpgView attachment 67309Well, that was an expensive lesson. My mechanic pulled the pistons and they are all good. No cracked ringlands,broken rings,,pistons or anything except the rear blown turbo. What I am thinking is that the massive cloud of smoke was from the turbo and the reason it bogged and died is because the hotside turbine got jammed and it impeded the exhaust flow so much on the back 3 cylinders that the engine would not stay running. Simular to the old potato in the exhaust pipe trick. I tried googling a simular occurance but only found no boost issues.
