ur radz is leekin, BlackMkIII

I have a black civic intake and love it..

I'm not trying to make this car a screamer (especially being NA), but it looks nice and sounds good..

with an HKS SMP filter/adapter, I fit my pipe perfectly, no mods, not cutting, only had to plug up 1 hole...

CRE: Good to see you, been missing your input around here. So you've noticed higher intake temps with the aluminum intake setup over the stock intake system. Have you considered coating the outside of the intake with say, JetHot, or some form of ceramic coating?

Edit: Went out today and got my upper piece(from t.b. to afm) ceramic coated. Have a friend with a booth, and they just happened to be doing a set of headers. They bead blasted and coated my pipe in around 2 or 3 hrs, inside and out.

lol, your car is bone stock(or was), and auto. Actually, I like the auto; drove pretty good, and responded well. The work your car needs now is minor, especially compared to what you've already done. Don't worry, it'll get there :)

If you're having problems, just give me a call. I'm a little slow right now, and can probably tinker with your car a bit if you need.

Hey Cuel... yeah, I'm still "around", just less active online.

The stock air system IS a CAI and it's far better thought out than most of those put together by most MKIII owners. The ONLY thing needed to optimize the stock system is to remove the accordion tubes (along with the whole VAF if possible). The resonator in the MKIII N/A's intake does a whole lot less for audible noise than it does for buffering the incoming air... and it doesn't just do that when the throttle plate is moving. ;)

And NO, I don't have the resonator in my intake, but running S/D there's almost no difference either way... it's completely open pipe. With a VAF or even a GM MAF keep it.
