Hello,
basically fabricating a low budget intake system for the ol GE motor. I quickly realized if you remove the air box and install an open cone filter, you will loose two of the mounting locations to suspend the intake properly. Your only left with the bracket that attaches to the AFM which doesn't do much but keep it in it's current location. It also tends to just flop down and lean on the inner fender. This bothers me as I would rather drive with a stock intake than a crappy DIY intake. I've picked up a few various brackets and exhaust hangers/clamps and I took it upon myself to engineer something to make it fit properly without sagging. I wanted to turn to the forums for advice, suggestions, pics of other peoples intake installs to see what you all may have done. Yes, I did perform a search and came up fairly empty handed, otherwise I would not have made this post. Maybe I used the search button wrong, no telling. If anyone had pics they could post I'd be extremely happy to see how you made it work. Otherwise, happy tuning to all!
