You get the 48 ECU and then a pin kit, buy the wires and make the harness yourself.

The DM AEM kit is just plug and play.

There are options.

ok, the problem is SOLVED! After trying a GOOD ECU & MAP from a working car i decided to stop being stupid and think.... I looked at the wiring in the bay and the REAR CPS has 1 wire that is starting to break badly. I touch the wire and BOOM car runs perfect again no sputtering what so ever. SO I ordered a new connectors and new wires to fix it. Thank god it wasn't the ECU LMFAO. Jumping the gun and thinking its the ECU is like 7M owners thinking BHG when the coolant is missing LOL

While the supra was down, i needed a family car anyway so picked this thing up

Anyone know how to diagnose the CPS'?

I got code 12 / 13 / & 22

12 RPM Signal
Diagnosis
No "NE" or "G" signal to ECU within 2 seconds after engine has been cranked.
Trouble Area
Distributor, or CPS, circuit
Distributor or CPS
Starter signal circuit

13 RPM Signal
Diagnosis
No "NE" signal to ECU when engine speed is about 1,000 RPM.

Im asking as i haven't changed the plug yet which IS broken but i want to check the sensors to make sure they are also good and weren't damaged or decided to die at the same time.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix. My 1J was doing the same thing, but it turned out to be the ECU was just shot. Luckily one of my friends already had one for sale cause they can be a little tricky to come by.

Yea i've heard of that happening. When i finished my 1J Swap, my SARD ecu was shot, i purchased a new one. Sent it directly to Driftmotion to get capped. I sent them my sard unit but it couldn't repaired as SARDs daughter board was FBAR

I need some help to make sure i'm doing this right.

to measure resistance in ohms. I put the meter on 4,000 range then touch pointer to the meater and i'm getting 1.035 so that must be 1,035 right? If so then my crank position sensor is FUBAR. Range for that puppy is 1630-2,740 cold and 2,065 - 3,225 hot.

Fixed the rear cps connector and replaced all coil pack connectors while i was at it. Woooooo she runs!!! But the water temp sensor plug now needs to be replaced (found out why i had code 22 - wire broke at conenctor). Good thing that one is easier to replace then the rear cps.

Just an update, coolant connect temp fixed with one from a late 90's camry i had in the yard, same exact plug, we have two 09/10 camry's but cant cut those off the harness as they only have 10K miles on them.

It starts and idles perfect but now has a miss every so often so its time to track down a boost leak. I was at 20 PSI WOT 11.5 with a tune, now with no tune 20 psi its near 12.5 so i'm taking it EZ til i fix the issues i may have caused looking for this no start issue... LOL damn supra.
