cuz last i checked that transmission was interchangeable between the 7m turbo engine, AND the 2j tt....

Umm... this belongs in the FS/WTB section of the forum...

Keep note that a W58 won't last you long on a turbo engine, good amounts of torque will beat it to bits.

7m yeah, 2j, youll need a different bell housing. if you want the best tranny for your 7mgte or what ever turbo motor you have, youre best investment is an R154.

2 trannies? what? you CAN put an r154 in your NA, itll just be rough when going into reverse. HOW EVER, you can also put a w58 on your turbo but it just wont hold as much power.

In a nutshell:

*The W58 = N/a mk3s with a 7M engine. 7M-GE = n/a.
*The R154 = Turbo mk3s with a 7M engine. 7M-GTE = turbo.
*As for the R154 being on the 2JZ engine, you'll need a different bell housing so that it'll fit correctly.

The W58 can work on a turbo, in fact, it's pretty smooth to boot. BUT the torque from the turbo engine will beat it up if you start making some power on the engine. A safe guideline has been no more than 300hp/tq on the W58 tranny. Hell, some people don't even recommend putting the W58 on the 1JZ swaps (there's threads discussing that).

Hope that clarifies things up for ya. Simply put: Just get the R154 and save yourself the headaches.

ya, that helps alot, but i was hoping there was something that would work on the 7m so i can get the bloody s.o.b mkiii i haver to pass smog once every two years, then the rest of the time have the tt 2j in there....thats all...

You need a 1 JZ bellhousing for the R154 to bolt onto the 2JZ dude.

Searching before you post and knowing where to post your threads at first helps a lot .
