How wide before rub?

Hey all - suspension is on its way to me:

Tokico Illumina and RS*R race springs.

I am ordering tires tonight and want to go as wide as I can without rubbing. I hear such mixed response on some people liking this setup, others saying its too low, shocks blow (eh, go bad), wheels rub, etc.

Has anyone had any good luck with this combo? I originally wanted to put 275R/255F on my 9" cobra wheels, but I think that will be too wide. Would 235F/255R work? The wheels are 17x9", 26mm offset.

Anyone with H&R's can respond here too - they are close enough for me to get an idea. I guess if I hear enough trouble with wheel-rub, I could sell and go eibach, but I really want a stiff setup - so these would be ideal to keep.

would think 275 would be ok on a 9" wheel. I run a 265 on a 10" rim and it is very stretched. Depends on your offset. Mine is 38 not sure about yours. Can't go any wider on mine or it will rub.

bump.

Looking to order tires tonight - I don't have the car at home to physically measure it or else I would. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has lowered their car and tucked in some rubber bigger than 225 (which I know is most of you).

Help!

I would think a 275/40/17 would fit just fine.

Ive got 275/40/18's on the rear and after a very minor fender roll they fit. Its on a 18x9.5 +35 and I'm on Bilstein and Ebiach's.
