how to remove old gasket from lower intake mani

so i need to know how to remove the old gasket from the lower intake mani the part where it meets the upper i have a leak and need to replace the gasket. however when i remove the mani the gasket is like permanently attached to the manifold. how do i get it off to replace it without scoring or cutting the aluminum.

If you have a heat gun, that will sometimes loosen the bond.
(Warning, using your girlfriend's hair drier will cause major bedroom problems)
But a good gasket scraper is also required, and you won't nick the aluminum if your carefull.

If you scratch the surface. You can lap the entire surface by placing emery paper on a sheet of glass. I have removed a baked on gasket before by milling that surface on the same mill I use for the cylinder head. If you damage it enough, you could always send it over to a machine shop to have the surface trued again.
