Or get a turbo tach.

P.s. has nothing to do with harness/ecu and its the igniter/ignition differences for the reason the tach doesnt work.

Does that help?
It's a small circuit board on the back of your factory tach, inside the instrument cluster.
It's a relatively easy job, even for a novice.
