My kickdown seems to be really random about when it wants to come on. Sometimes I'll put my foot flat and nothing will happen and other times it'll work and kickdown a gear. Have looked at the cable but I have no idea how to adjust it?

Or what it is ...... It's a Line Pressure Cable and has nothing to do with kickdown.
That's handled by the ECT box and is electronic.
1) Check your ECU codes
2) Check your tranny codes
(instead of guessing)
The line pressure up cable adjusts the "quality" of the shift...more or less harsh.
