Hey all. I just got new rims for my DD and the car is shaking like hell. I'm going tomorrow morning to get them balanced and I was just wondering about how much it would cost me. I hated the old rims I had. Ugly and small.

unless you have them dynamically balancedyoure waisting your time. IMO of course.itll probablycost around 85 bucksfor all four.

Damn that’s expensive! I paid $8 per tire to have them mounted and dynamically balanced back in my old home town. It was pretty common to switch between a winter pair of tires and a summer pair of tires on a set of rims. So mounting and balancing happened a lot.

Thats what I'm hoping for. I just got my paycheck and I'd rather not blow a fourth of it on balancing rims. I'd rather dump it into the Supra.

Lol IJ.

It might be a regional thing. Because of the winters where I lived in Colorado. You had to have studded snow tires for the winter, and a separate set of tires for summer, other wise you would ruin the winter tires.

So tires got mounted and balanced twice a year for every car so those balancing machines got paid off pretty quick. Other places that don't do it as often might charge more for the service.

to do that you must sell your soul.

Lol, my friends brother traded him his soul for a bag of chips. Anyway, I'll let you all know how much it is later today. And hopefully I wont have to put my old rims back on because of some ludicrous price to get the balanced.

I work in a garage and balancing's like 3.99 a tire when you buy tires. I make a whopping 30cents in commission on it I think.

I wish my shop charged 85 bucks for balancing... even with 10 percent commission I could make like 140+ bucks an hour!

the machine to REALLY dynamically balance the wheels ON the car is expensive, along with training etc etc.

any one who can see a light blink and hear a buzzer can use the old balancing machine.
