I've been doing a clutch install for awhile now, I've disassembled and installed a few times now looking for this vibration and out of balance feeling.

Last night after torquing, sealing, greaseing everything back up to perfection again, I thought I had it licked when I started it and it seemed to be gone. It was 3AM so I couldn't rev it to give it a good test.

Today I came out and installed the exhaust, driveshaft and lowered the car and the vibration/shake in the drivetrain has returned. After checking everything so many times, I'm wondering now if this is a natural 1JZ vibration maybe being amplified by some bad motor mounts, and I may have just never studied everything so closely before.

SOOO, anyone ever pay any attention to see if their 1JZ has a natural shake/vibration around 1600 RPMs? Could anyone check theirs for me? If you have stiff mounts you will get a stronger vibe in your seat, weak mounts and the motor /trans will be shaking a bit.

Im diagnosing the problem right now, gonna take the driveshaft off for shits and giggles just to make sure, as its the only thing changed from last night now. Shaft hasn't spun once since the install though, makes no sense.

I just want to make sure Im not chasing a natural vibration because Im out of options.

ya thats weird. Ive got solid mounts and I never notice an excess of shaking. Most people who ride in the car dont believe me when I tell them the motor mounts are solid metal

It didn't seem to get any interest so I didn't bother with a solution.

I had a faulty injector that would cut out intermittently and leave the motor running on 5 cylinders. Just ended up happening right on the first start-up after the clutch install, so naturally I thought it was driveline related. It shakes a bit more than usual on 5 cylinders, heh.

Figured it out when I just decided to take it for a drive and the problem would always be gone when off the gas in gear
