How is my Clutch Slipping?

so i believe to have a slipping clutch.
at first, i noticed it would only happen when comming around a turn, slamming it into second...or third, so i thought it might be rear lsd clutches..could it? but then i started slipping for me on staight pulls.
thing is, sometimes i'm pouring the pickle to it and slammin the gears, and it grabs just fine. no slippage at all
i have a W58 with a new stock clutch and PP, and had the flywheel machined. from what i read i would be in a safe limit of too much power for this NA equipment to hold, cus i don't think i'm making that much power. and i'm running stock boost.
So i looked underneath and noticed an oily bellhousing. so i think, can a rear main seal or a trans seal(what kind of seal is it?) cause it to absorb oil and slip?
any suggestions of what to do?

OK
oil from the rear main seal or tranny could be getting on the clutch, flywheel, or pp and cause it so slip if it is inconsistent slipping. more than likely it could be the tranny cuz the flywheel would block most oil but hard to tell

i had a similar problem. My clutch would slip while accelerating in 5th gear on the free way. But when id run it hard through the gears it would grab. Didnt make sence to me. Same night i blew my trans going into second gear, when i pulled the tranny out the clutch was fried. So sounds like you got a bad clutch to me.

Could also be the pedal adjustment under the dash. If it's too tight (all the way out before it engages) it will build pressure and not fully engage the clutch disc. But, if it's leaking oil on the disc, that's definitely your problem.

It expands when you put heat in it!!

5th gear puts the most torque on the clutch to hold (gearing based)

that's why it would slip there.

Sounds like a toast clutch to me, the stock clutch doesn't like heat too much...

so i did quick hard first, second, third pull yesterday and i had slippage going into third, so i let off a little and i felt it engage. i'm thinkin' the drippin' oil is the culprit, anyway to verify this without pulling the tranny? i replaced the rear main seal on the tranny job, but not the input seal on the tranny, yeah i know..stupid. what does it take to replace this seal? and is my clutch forever toasted?

Did u follow the directions for the break in period? The soft materials like carbon and Kevlar pretty much the same stuff the stock disk is made of has to be broken. however ceramic disk are little more forgiving about not breaking them in properly ..... Ask me how I know :)
