How do u know if ur cps sensor is bad

Car starts on first turn but when u press the gas she cuts of.
When u press ir slowly she revs up but still cuts off.
When driven she dosent do she gos stals and cuts off..

what are your mods and has it always been doing this or just slowly started to? from what i've seen, the cps wires are usually the things that go bad...not the actual cps itself.

so it doesnt idle at all? if it does is the rpm bouncy or steady?

I found out my CPS was bad when my car would not start, and I couldn't figure it out. I sent the car to a mechanic, and he fixed it with a new CPS. This was a good while back (3 cars ago). There is probably an easy way to test it in the TSRM. I will try to find a link for you.

i bought the car from a friend who bought it from another dude...buts since my boy bought the car, he has never driven it...it idles up and down sometimes (maybe vacuum leak somewhere...but that dosent explain the lack of deceleration or idle problem, so i am thinking that the cps sensor is bad she idles fime when in pk but when u rev it then it acts up so i am thinking that the cps sensor is not supplying enough info for a proper fuel spark delivery.

The car doesn't respond to throttle input. You should check things that are effected by airflow in the engine.
