so..my antenna was a joke and i wanted to replace it. i took out the power antenna module thing. and unplugged the antenna cable from it. i tried to make use of the male part of the antenna from the module to use it to connect to the new antenna but it wouldnt work.what can i do...to connect both of these pieces together and have reception?

i dont want a power antenna cus i hear it doesnt go down when it should or something..and i dont have the stock headunit either

Doesn't matter. I have a Sony head unit and it works just fine. Whoever told you that must of had a broken antenna control relay thingy. I have an extra one that works. Its just annoying when the antenna stays up when listening to CD's. But there is an easy fix for that as well.

well that would be pretty classy. a working power antenna. but right now im not to inclined in spending 125 bucks on this. i rather an easier fix and to spend the extra dough on something more important.
i will figure this out. it can be done. i know it.

Ive got 2 power antennas im not using.

One is brand new, and would need some work to fit in the supra (splice into the old harness and find a way to mount it).

The other I pulled from my car. Its been sitting awhile but I sprayed it with some WD-40 and ran it a few times and it works good. Has a little rust on the bottom you could sand off.

Ill give either away for free if you wanna pay shipping from 94534 CA.

yeah ill definetly think about it, i gotta check the connections in the car.. remember seeing some chopped wire when removing it. ill let you know as soon as i scope out the situation

you know how theres two antenna plugs the plug into the head unit...i only have a spot for one. whats the other smaller plug for? the power antenna?
i also heard we have an antenna in the rear window heater thing..do we? can i make this work?

There is one in the rear window, its what I use but its not as strong as the regular power antenna.

i realized that little antenna plug that i couldnt use was the one for the rear window antenna when i took apart the rear trim... how weak is it? why did toyota do this kind of configuration?
