Hood Latch Rubber Insulator???

I've been looking at the hood latch above the intercooler for a bit now. I've been wondering if there isn't supposed to be a slide on piece of rubber that goes onto the tip of it... I know that it shouldn't really get that hot up by the intercooler to make the hood latch get hot but id imagine its supposed to have one. Anyone know?

so i take it im right in assuming that they come w/ one.... any clue where i can get one? They come in assorted colors? Im expecting to only be able to find a yellow one maybe.... altho im really interested in a Red one.

Buy some plasti-dip in the desired color. Clean, dip, dry, done.

It's rubber.

Think handles on a pair of pliers, the handles are dipped into liquid rubber and it cures...

we use that shit on r/c car servos dip the whole servo cut out the nub where the servo horn goes on and its water proof.
