Hey, this will be my first question here at SM. I am looking to buy a used F-CON with the stock 440cc ROM chip installed. I have the common Lexus afm / 550cc injector upgrade . I was told that there is a 550cc injector ROM chip for the F-CON. I dont' need that if I have the larger afm, do I?

Correct.
If using the Lexus AFM already, keep the 440 ROM in the F-con.
You can use the 550 ROM with the Lexus AFM if you switch to 720 injectors.

For it's time. it was the way to do it. Now a days. You have the MAFT Pro to do most of the same with more adjustability out of it but the same ignition limitations.
Standalones. anywhere from $900 to $25,000.
Thanks guys, I'm not sure I need this F-CON yet but I think $350 is a good deal.
I have been "rebuilding" my 7m for over two years now. I was going to have one shipped to me from over seas but my buddy said that he could rebuild the one I have for the same price ~$1500. I thought this would be a good experience me since I have never completely rebuilt an engine before. I'm not sure where this all went wrong but he called me up one day and said he was going to drop the engine off at my house and he just doesn't have enough time to finish the project.
So $1500 later I have a "rebuilt" long block and a big box of parts! This wouldn't be such an issue if I was the one who took it apart...
I am over the shock of the situation and I am ready to start reassembling. Wish me luck and I appreciate any help you guys give me in the future.

Get a good camera and post lots of pics. There are plenty of people here that can point you in the right direction.
