When i start my car the gauge climbs to almost 40psi idling then when im driving threw the neighborhood it will go to 60psi or so. But once it gets warmed it goes back to normal.

Completely normal. This is why you should allow your engine adequate time to warm-up before taking off.

As koulee says, it's normal. Oil is thicker when it's cold.

General rule of thumb is to allow the car to warm up to normal op temp on the gauge before driving, and don't go full boost until 10 minutes after the coolant gauge shows full temp.

This gives the oil a chance to heat up and everything a chance to stabilize before you put stress on the system.

Treat your cars like that and you'll get a lot more life out of them.

I want to modify that. Don't drive it hard until it is warm, which is right where you were heading. And don't move the car for 10 seconds after starting. That is another nugget from that often ignored owners manual.
