Just get a head gasket ( gasket set ) You need to make sure your head did:icon_surpnt get warped too, make sure you get all the material off the block too.

BZZZZ, incorrect.

Ensure that both the head and block are level and smooth enough if you are doing a MHG job.

If you're doing a composite gasket, a slightly rougher finish from the machinist's shop is preferable to help seal the gasket. Some Copper spray on the composite gasket can help too.

Better take the spare time to check your rod and main bearings for wear and make sure the clearances aren't out of TSRM spec.

A new, up-to-date Valve cover fastner kit to keep them from backing off like the stockers tend to do over time.

Coolant, you should flush all the old out, replace the t-stat if it hasn't been done in over a year or so.

Check all of your coolant hoses and replace the dried, worn out ones.

There are a few other things to look at, but that's the major ones that I can think of off the top of my head, feel free to chime in on anything else that should be addressed.

Damn, one of the no brainers! Can't believe I forgot that one, should have put that up there right beside the coolant.

I must be getting old :(

lol - not to worry, I must admit it's not often that I catch you on the obvious ones. Hell, it's not often that I catch you on the obscure ones!

(probably about as often as you catch ME, come to think of it...)
