Help me identify this part!

My radiator hose blew off while driving and it wasnt a faulty hose. it was the nipple part that the hose slides onto had broken off so there wasnt enough to clamp the hose onto. try as i might, i could not get the hose to stay on for more than a few miles. the car sits right now getting snowed on:3d_frown: so i need to identify this broken part so i can fix it tomorrow! thanks guys

that^^ is a picture of the engine bay so you guys know what area of the motor i am dealing with. the general area of the peice is outlined in red.

That^^ is the close up. the green outlines the broken nipple and the red outlines the entire piece that will need to be replaced.

Hmmm I would say delete the heater, but you mentioned the word 'snow'. So, I guess check EBay for one.

Hint: Try looking beyond Toyota. The valve itself without the actuator is used on other cars. Nearly identical and easy to fit. Around $30.

yeah i was thinking what a pain in the butt i have to buy that entire peice when all i need is that plastic box.

i really dont want to spend 230 bucks. what other cars would have this and how would i identify it when i order it?

also, yes it is very cold around here right now (14 outside right now actually), but i could live without heat for a week or so.... enough time to get me a cheap one on ebay or something. how do i "delete" the heater so that i can use it again? thanks

Just go to a junkyard and grab one. I grabbed two of them when I went in case one of them didn't work.

yeah that is probably what i will do. but until then i need to bypass this system somehow.

someone point me in the right direction of how to shut off my heater system so that i wont need that hose temporarily. thanks!

Btw this is not a part you want to get from the junkyard for what should be obvious reasons...

so basically just connect the bottom and top hoses together? sweet. and then i wont have any heat? :3d_frown: oh well lol

you have 2 hoses that enter that thingie.

One thats broken and the other comming from the bottom.

Connect those two together.

You're not catching on too quickly here....he doesn't live in california like a lot of you lucky guys but he lives in PA where temps actually drop BELOW 40*. Now i know thats a hard concept to grasp for some of you california natives but in certain places of the world...it happens :sarcasm:

Look around on here for someone parting out a car..They should have it for pretty cheap.. MK3 FS section.
