Im having some electrical issues. When I get in my car my door lights come on, everything ok so far, then when I try to crank it. I get a whining noise and all the electricals cut off. Then none of my electronic works at ALL. No door lights, no headlights, no nothing. I leave it over night, get in my car again. All the interior lights work, then I tried to turn on my headlights. The whole car dies again. This is a brand new battery. What could be the problem?

It had the same problem with the old battery, took it in and got a new one. Still same problem. The positive terminal is new. I will replace the ground tommorow and see if that works.

I replaced the ground terminal and wire today, it grounds only to the fender and not the motor. This should be ok rite? It still doesnt work. Im going to replace the positive wires tommorow.

The red is what I replaced.

Say what? You'd better have a big ass ground to the engine block or it's going to get interesting when the 200+ amps of starter current tries to find another way back to that chassis ground. I won't even go into all the other problems you can have without a block ground.

p.s. I took out that trim under the front windshield. Then I washed the car, could this be a reason why my shit isnt working?

Based on what you wrote it's not working because of bad connections in the battery circuit, one of which is the missing block ground. You may have already slightly cooked something. On most cars the engine is usually on elastomeric mounts. Same with the tranny and suspension. Starter current has to get back to the battery negative somehow and when it can't do it through the block it'll find some other way. I've seen fried U joint bearings, throttle cables, linkages, on and on. It all depends on what provides the "easiest" path and such damage is always indicative of a bad block ground.

Not to mention the ECU and injector grounds in this car are on the intake manifold. Even then the Supra has suck grounding in a few places. The igniter for example. I daisy chain the ECU grounds to the igniter and then to the fender ground that leads directly back to the battery negative. I also run a wire from one of the O2 sensor mounting studs to the right side head/firewall ground that's already on the car. The O2 sensor signal is tiny enough without having it return through a mess of corroded exhaust components. It's why later O2 sensors are four wire.

I havnt tried to crank the car yet. Could something still be fried?
