I need to refill my AC system since it was taken apart for the motor upgrades, but the single manifold is about 1in from the low side fill port, making it nearly impossible to get to it to vacuum or fill. (and my dumbass didnt think about having the low side port relocated on the aluminum line while i coulda had it off)

Is it possible to do it from the hot side?

Allow me to expand on this.

If you connect to the high side while the car is running or the system is pressurized, it's likely your freon source can will explode.

Be VERY VERY careful using that method. Like JJ says, the car needs to be off. (Disconnect the battery while you are at it to avoid an accident).

No, not "normally". You'll be charging with liquid. I hesitated on that reply just for this reason. Inexperienced people should not charge with liquid. I do it as a matter of routine because it's much faster than charging with vapor but if you don't know what you're doing be very careful. At least study up on the method first. The danger is what Mike said, especially if you're using small cans. They'll blow up in your face.

damn, fuck that.

I'll just cut some knuckles, take the low side AC line off, and have another nipple welded on another spot. 1hr of welding labor is alot cheaper then having no face.

Depends on your face I suppose ;). You might be able to get a flexible adapter on the low side. Charging with liquid isn't a bid deal as long as the engine is off. Btw about the compressor: I was thinking of charging the low side with liquid. Too early in the morning for me to be thinking right.
