I found a diamond cut headlight conversion kits on ebay that I think I am going to get, but I have heard about people installing these kits and burning up their wiring harness. This particular kit I am looking at comes with H4 Xenon HID Bulbs that produce 160/170W High Wattage light output with only a standard Watt current draw. Now my question is if I install this set up am I in danger of doing serious damage to my electrical system?

P.s. If anyone has one of these conversions can me how it performs in different weather conditions and tell me what the hell the little blue light is for inside the housings?

i actually have these lights on my supra. they are hell bright and the dont harm your wiring at all. mine are covered with black vinyl except for 2 circles on each one.( they were like this when i got them just tried them out and liked the look at night) the little blue light is for whats called a city light you can wire it to a switch and turn them on by there selves and it makes it glow blue. i think its gay so i took the blue bulb out and put the black cap back in it. i will post pics as soon as i can if you want.

I strongly encourage you to upgrade the stock wires Before you install the new light housings & bulbs. To prove my point w/o a lot of work just upgrade the ground wires &/or run an extra grnd wire from each head light to the chasie. You will see a nice difference with the stock lights from just that. SupraSport use to sell the upgraded harness. If not PM me & I will tell ya what you need.

Clip, I know you're not that clumbsy, but man, you're making me extremely nervous running with those scissors in your hand............;)

Sorry, Track but I don't have any experience with the headlight conversion kits. This useless post will serve as a bump though. Free of charge...........lol

Just know that the quality of the output beam pattern is directly related to the quality of the headlight design. With that said, most, if not all "diamond" headlight replacements are made with only looks in mind and little to no design for performance.
SO if you want it for looks, no problem, go for it.
If you are looking for better light and a far superior beam pattern over stock, get the Hella, Cibie, or Narva repalcements. They arent Diamond Cut, but their lens design outperforms the cheap eBay headlights.

As for the wire integrity, it all depends on the bulbs you run and has nothing to do with the headlight itself. You should really stay away from those 100W+ bulbs. They draw much more current than the harness was designed for and can easily fry the harness, which would be a costly repair.

A good bulb, in a good housing doesnt require you to overdrive the current draw.
