fel-pro or OEM tend to be your best(for a GE application unless you plan on turbo'n later on). Make sure when you put it on it's a clean surface both on the head and block and your re-torque them to 75-80 ft/lbs

For stock head bolts, the max I would go is 70-75 ft/lbs. For ARP, use the numbers on the spec sheet.

im starting to wonder tho
i might just have to retorque the headbolts
the only symptom of a bhg that i have is the coolant reservoir boiling over
but there is no coolant in the oil and the car is not overheating at all
im just wondering at this point

Sounds like my car and I can tell you this I'm not certain it's a bhg but more like a ticking bomb that I want to change ASAP ;) maybe we are wrong it could be something else but I'm pretty sure its a HG

Do a compression and block test (tests for exhaust gas in the coolant).

You could simple have a pinhole leak (or bad radiator cap) in your cooling system causing it to lose pressure. Loss of pressure causes boiling and then increased pressure causing a vicious cycle.

On the gasket sets, I personally dislike fel-pro because many of the gaskets aren't nearly the quality of the OEM ones, but I've heard Stone gaskets are very good (rumor has it they make them for Toyota but can't confirm it).

EDIT:  @ IJ

lol
the other thing is that it only happens when the car is parked up on an angle where the drivers side is higher than the passenger
i dunno if that would make a difference.
