Q45 TB with Q45 TPS wired in ala the diagram i found.... but im wondering if anyone has done this and what it needs to be spec'd to for the car to run properly. Would it be the same numbers for the stock tps? if not what exactly needs to be done to spec it out....

thanks for any help

even though SF is down...im sure ive seen that...thats the post with the wiring diagram right?

i used that to wire it up but he said to spec it he used his afc (which im not using) and he still didnt get it 100% right....

soooo im wondering if theres a way to spec it out like the stock one with a feeler gauge and the set screw on the tb....

If the TPS was securely installed in the TB & the TB was sourced from a running car, I wouldn't mess with the adjustment at all...odds are it's close enough to spec as is.

If the TPS has been messed with adjustment-wise, go to a Q45 service manual and look for the equivalent to page FI-101 in the '89+ TSRM; or beg from a forum where there are a larger # of Q45 TB users, LOL.
At any rate, I bet the procedure is the same, or close to it; but you will need the values- don't assume they are the same as the Toyota TPS, unless it happens to be the same ND part#. Other than that, you already know the pinouts, so you're almost good-to-go.

Good luck.

I am using the Q45 TB w Q45 TPS 94% succesfully:) with the write-up on SF. I guess if you dont have an SAFC, all you really need is a voltmeter to adjust the TPS sensor position/voltage range mentioned in the write-up. Theres a certain voltage range you need to adjust it at, so your Computer does'nt throw a code. Mine runs fine, but the 94% success I mentioned earlier is because my AFC still does not read 100% when the pedal is floored, it only goes to 94% throttle position. Based on the SF instructions, all I have to do is adjust/play with the TPS Voltage a little bit more (by slightly rotating the TPS). But overall, the cars runs/idles like stock. Thats with a Ron R FFI with everything still installed (Idle control valve etc)
