NICE, i like the changes you listed. sad to see the tank leave but all the things you said they changed are for the better, if you go for realism. I always give props to san andreas for how vast it is but the realism of gta IV sounds pretty slick!
can you bail out of cars? or get a gang? not that those were ever very helpful

I NEED to play this game.
who's messed in the storyline/ missions? havent heard anything about those yet.
uhhh...you're doing something wrong? doesnt fit your type of gameplay?
i dunno what do you DO when you play? blow shit up?
do the missions yet?
I just like the freedom to complete a storyline, drive cars (i love driving games), blow shit up, fly planes...etc...all in ONE huge game. NOW i'm bored with GTA San Andreas because the storyline is over and i know the world...pretty well.
i want to revisit gta III and vice city to see what they were like. i havent played them in ages. i remember vice city being fun. III was never that hot....
Just wrapped up playing online again...
Bailing is back, but now there's a few quirks so you'll get the ragdoll treatment and get flung around if you decide to jump out of a moving car at high speed. Damage in single player from motorbikes is tweaked, in the fact that if you(single player mode) hop on a parked(not hijack) motorbike, the character takes a few seconds to slap a helmet on and I've noticed less damage from the wrecks I've encountered. The speed of the vehicle is shown by how fast everything blurs and tunnel visions relative to the speed, and hitting a wall at full speed on a motorcycle with the helmet on
will kill you. Ask me how I found out, :naughty:
Storyline is cool, there are times when you get to decide which course in the story you want to take. There's 2 different endings, keep that in mind.
Try driving around on single player when you get drunk, that's a blast. The 'tripping balls' effect is sitting in a taxi while drunk and telling the cab driver to speed up. Traffic doesn't stop if you run out in front of it, and it's possible to get hit, run over, and dragged to death. Standing on moving cars is no longer available, so don't expect that to last more than 2 seconds.

"OMFG, the GPS system is the best damn thing to the GTA series mapping since armor." No seriously. It is. Not once have I had to throw my controller down because it was impossible to map out where I was headed. Hop in a car and it'll set a course for you to follow.
The 1.0 version of GTA had problems loading when the user was logged into the PSN, but that's been patched up since so there's no issues with it. The missions aren't impossible, since the firefight style of the game changed so your character can duck behind various objects to take cover and blindfire. That equates to less dying and frustration. Gang members aren't initially available, but later in the game you can call for temporary backup and they'll support you until time is up with shooting, etc etc. The AI isn't too bad in this one.
It's all the small things that really got fixed in this one, and I've played through the game more than enough to say it's the closest thing to 'realism' in the series thus far. Some people might complain you miss out on the stuff that was scrapped from the previous games, but the huge advancement in everything overshadows being able to get tanks, aircraft, missiles and unlockable digiporn. Speaking of digiporn, I was surprised to see the hookers 'get it done' instead of just sitting there like they used to :biglaugh:. I'm mixed about the controls, but only because I've never been good at flying up flights of stairs.
Uhh... yeah, there's my free review. -Ed.T
