What is a good/safe way to work under the Supra?
I need to change the oil. Do ramps or jacks work?
Will the oil drain out completely with the front end up in the air?

Where are the lift points with floor jacks and where do I put the jack stands?

Do I need an adapter so not to damage the rail for the ones on the four corners?
I looked at jacking at those points with my floor jack but didn't want to bend the rail.
Same with the jack stands, is there an adapter for them too?

I put my floor jack under the front cross bar(in front of the oil pan) and lift from that. I put the jack stands on the side rails(mine has arrows). For the rear I lift using the differential. I put jackstands on the rails in the rear also.

I usually lower the car onto jacks leaving the floor jack still in contact with whatever part im lifting and leave it under the car. Incase the stands fail the jack might save me who, worht it to just leave it there...

Ramps generally don't work because the car is too low (well Mine is anyways). Jack the car up from the frame - hard to miss underneath. Put a stand where you just jacked the car up. Move over to the other side and repeat. You should now have enough room to shimmy under the car.

But, before you do. Give your car a good hip check and make sure it's stable on the stands. Better it to fall/slip on the stands when you're not underneath it :)

When dropping the oil, make sure to be *ready* to position the pan. EVERY time I do my oil, I get a nice stream pouring out that splashes on the inside of the passengers wheel. I guess the drain plug is pretty hefty (17mm).

Put in an extra liter of oil too (as per many people on this board's recommendation).

I've always done this, it just seems like common sense if the wheels are off. If they arent off, I slide some #12 cinder blocks under her.

I wouldn't even run one of those drain valves...just another thing to hang down too low and scrape...

my jackstands are for a truck...and each one is rated for more than the total weight of my car...

the rear diff IS a jack point, but the front crossmember is NOT listed as one in the TSRM IIRC, use the rails, they're not as flimsy as they seem...

My drain plug is HUGE. its bigger than a 19mm . I'm guessing a 21mm. I used a 15/16" and it fit well.

The TSRM specifies the center of the front suspension cross mount as a lift point. Follow the link in post #2.

I love changing oil now with the Fumoto. I don't need a pan anymore. Just hook a tube to the valve nipple and straight into a jerry can. Don't spill a drop anymore, and no more oil running down my arm like the old days when I would try to quickly remove the drain plug and washer.

There shouldn't be any worries about the Fumoto dragging or scraping on anything. There are parts on underneath the Supra that can hang down lower than that.

3p: Any clearance issues with your Fumoto?

I dont use the rails as a jack point. My floor jack has a Flat metal spindal, that doesnt work with the rails. I guess a bottle jack that is shaped to fit the rails would work just fine.
