Hey there everyone. I have a 7M-GE parts car that was involved in an accident that tore up the front and back. I want to swap the GE parts into my non-running turbo car, but am wondering if anyone here who has experience swapping (either GE-> GTE or vice versa) knows exactly what it entails. The only reason why I am doing a GTE-GE swap is because I came across the car in good shape for a good price (minus the accident damage). It seems some of the fuses are blown (although I haven't checked which ones), which means the car won't start in current form. I figure I'll need the ECU from the car and maybe TCM (5-speed) if the TCM in my turbo car (it's auto) is not compatible. Does anyone know what the differences are in wiring harnesses or point me in the right direction? I've pretty much hacked off the front end of the car and the engine is almost ready to pull straight out. I've tried searching past articles, but most of them just talk about doing a swap or are a work in progress. I have too many other side projects going on, but my non-running Supra has been sitting in my garage for four years. Even if I get her out on NA power, I really just want to drive it again. That and I broke the differential on my daily driver, if I fix it, it costs me money and time, I need a car to drive in the meantime. The GE motor was rebuilt with a new HG and torqued to 75lb-ft so I shouldn't have issue with a BHG for the time being. Any help, advice, or other options (like a built turbo motor for sale) would be appreciated.
